About an hour from Quebec City in the Portneuf region, the Bras du Nord valley is a renowned mountain biking destination. It also boasts beautiful hiking trails, including the Bras du Nord trail which leads to the magnificent Delaney Falls.
The hike is accessible year-round and is easy to complete. The whole family can enjoy it without any problems. Even our four-legged friends, on a leash, are welcome.
A good portion of the trail follows the river to reach the base of an impressive 150-meter-high waterfall. For comparison, Montmorency Falls is 83 meters high and Niagara Falls is 52 meters.
When the water level is high, you can hear the roar of the water long before you see the falls. Once you reach the base, the sound is deafening.
The area at the bottom of the falls is well-maintained, with picnic tables available.
There's no bad time to do this hike; whatever the season, the waterfall is magnificent. If you have the chance to go after a period of heavy rain, the waterfall will be even more impressive.
